Frank worked as Director of Operations as well as Circulation Director.
His primary purpose was at the highest level of manufacturing management and reporting responsibility for other major functional departments including Composition Trafficking, Art, Press and Packaging.
- * Oversees the execution of manufacturing schedules and assures the application of all production, test, development, documentation and safety standards.
- * Coordinates with production control, maintenance and other departments in the accomplishment of production goals.
- * Involved in preparation of reports and analyses of various cost control, production, labor, quality and staffing.
- * Ensures that company standards and requirements are met.
- * Works to insure that the company continues to operate in a cost efficient manner including technology as well as policy and product changes being implemented.
Directs and or performs such individual assignments as management may direct. Maintains effective work relationships within the department with various departmental supervisors, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Frank was involved in performing those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, safety, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department. He has proven experience in two or more ancillary functions such as quality, test and sales. Frank’s responsibility as Director of Operations was to maintain a competitive position and profitability for the operation. Directing and coordinating all manufacturing operations to ensure on time cost effective delivery of product.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND CHALLENGES:
Manage the Manufacturing Operation’s resources and personnel to obtain maximum benefit through organization, training and leadership.
- * Develop and recommend corporate manufacturing policy.
- * Define and recommend manufacturing objectives.
- * Assist in formulation of corporate business plan including capital improvements and projection of production capabilities.
- * Direct production of all company products consistent with established cost control methods and quality standards.
- * Coordinate technical support for the production department.
- * Direct installation and maintenance of all processing equipment used in manufacturing.
- * Direct preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates and manpower and facility requirement forecasts.
- * Insure prompt and economical shipment of parts and finished products to customers.
- * Direct the preparation of specifications for purchase as to quality, quantity, delivery and service required for purchase of equipment, supplies and materials to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- * Ensure inventory controls, inventory levels and flow of materials including newsprint, ink and other production requirements.
- * Coordinate and collaborate with other company departments to achieve given responsibilities.
- * Direct security and maintenance of all facilities and equipment.
- * Encourage positive relationship with all outside commercial accounts.
